My first dish – Jaggery Ka Halwa!!!!

गुड़ का हलवा uff Jaggery Ka Halwa

When I was a kid, I was my grandfather’s pet. We use to play together, he use to tell me sooo many stories….. He was the best cook!!! You will be shock to know that this dish was taught by him… its yummmyyyy and my best dish till date…

Every Sunday evening we both use to enter the kitchen like Chefs.  A Master Chef with his little Amateur Chef. Actually when everyone use to take rest in the evening and when grandma use to see her cooking shows or some Sunday shows which use to come on T.V,  we both use to cook happily!!!

I use to stand on a Small table so that I can have a proper view. (The slab of the stove was too high... lol)...
Any special occasion in the house, the leaders 1st prepare this halwa. It’s a belief that the start of the work will be good.

Ingredients:
½ Cup of Ghee
1 Cup of Wheat flour
2 Cups of water
¼ Cup of Jaggery

Things required:
1 non-stick frying pan
1 Spatula
1 heating bowl
1 Tea filter (strainer)

Method:

Firstly in a heating bowl, put 2 cups of water and ¼ cup of jaggery and lid the stove. Keep mixing it now and then till the jaggery melts totally and becomes fully liquid.

As the jaggery water gets ready. Take the Pan and put ½ cup of ghee and lid the stove.
After the Ghee is heated up add 1 cup of wheat flour to it and keep stirring it with a spatula till it turns light brown color.

After the mixture turns light brown color off the lid, and pour the jaggery water using the Tea filter (strainer). And stir it really well. Make sure there are no lumps formed.

The Jaggery Halwa is ready to serve and eat!!!

Note:

  •              Do not put the jaggery water directly. Always filter the jaggery water before using with the help of tea filter.

  •              Make sure that the ghee is not at the boiling temperature. It should just be heated up slightly.
Preparation Time : 15 mins

P.S I just love it!!!!!!! Yummmmmm….
